-Sult-

GOD OF HUNGER AND GLUTTONY

Symbol: A set of fangs was often the symbol used by cults of the deity of hunger, at times just the canines, while other cults utilized an entire set of sharp teeth to embellish their temples. Jaw bones

Place of Existence: During the Age of Woe, Sult was roaming across the Realm of Nhearn, often taking residency in the forests of the world and antagonizing Vanessa for access into the Fey Wilde. Now, though mostly a forgotten tale, Sult's defeat stands as one of few instances where a God was truly destroyed following the end of the Age of Woe.

Signs: Ravenous hunger, howling, and the growls of beasts are still signs of Sult's influence upon the world, the evil lingering even after the fall of the God.

Alignment: Chaotic Evil

Sult was once worshipped by cults who sought out grand rewards, taking the ideals of gluttony to manifest an ever increasing desire for rising power, though the God was more literal in their own purposes. Sult was a very active deity on its own merit, wandering through the woodlands to discover creatures that it could set its influence upon. The shadow of hunger, as it came to be known by the wood elves that battled with the creature more often than other denizens of the Realm, would discover creatures to overwhelm.

The God was one that took an ambiguous form that has few relics to reveal its appearance from cults that favor the deity, though wood elf depictions from their time of strife often show Sult as a tall slender shadow that moved about in a patch of dark tree limbs and bramble, only revealing glowing eyes and bared teeth. At the edges of this shadow's manifestation, the brambles and limbs would take on tendril qualities with which it could reach out and touch creatures that would become cursed by its will.

It is claimed from wood elf histories that Sult, upon entering the woodlands, became enamored with the hunt allowed by Vanessa from her domain. Beasts that were once friendly were touched by the God, growing fangs and gaining a ravenous hunger. Bears, wolves, and hunting cats now prowled throughout Nhearn, seeking to sate the endless hunger that now cursed their purpose.

As Sult amassed armies of crazed beasts across Nhearn and fought often with the world, the wood elves gathered to do battle with the God. During the opening days of the First Age as accounted by the Empire of Man, the wood elves were able to discover a use for the shards of the wicked blade from the end time of the Age of Woe. They brought the weapon into the heart of their woodlands as Sult revealed themselves in an attempt to make it into Vanessa's Fey Wilde and during a fight to get to the God through their amassed forces, the leader of the woodland dominions struck the vile power and slayed it, proving that the weapon of Annabel could harm any deity still upon the firmament for good or evil.

No longer existing, as the weapon struck down every last bit of essence that Sult bore, the perils of Gluttony still lingered upon Nhearn, leaving behind the carnivorous beasts and the insatiable hunger for amassing power. Though there are no cults which still offer worship to the deity, Sult's memory stands as a victory for the forces of good against all that Annabel had created and a warning among the pantheon that harm may still befall any upon Nhearn.
